  • Monday, 15 August: Late Breaker Abstract Submission Period OPENS
  • Monday, 22 August: Participation Deadline for Late Breaker Abstract Mentor Programme
  • Thursday, 15 September: Late Breaker Abstract Submission Period CLOSES

ABOUT THE ABSTRACT MENTOR PROGRAMME
ASLM2016 mentors are subject matter experts who have experience writing and submitting scientific abstracts.
Mentors will work directly with applicants to provide guidance on:

  • Formatting, language, and grammar
  • General scientific writing
  • Key message and scope of abstract to meet ASLM2016 Abstract Submission Guidelines

However, mentors will not:

  • Analyse data or provide scientific input
  • Complete the abstract submission for ASLM2016
  • Assist with development of presentations, posters, or subsequent manuscripts

HOW DOES IT WORK?
AJLM will coordinate requests for mentorship and connect you with a mentor on a first-come, first-served basis – matching content area and language. The ASLM2016 Late Breaker Abstract Mentor Programme is available only for abstracts that have NOT already been submitted to ASLM2016.

Steps to participate:

  • Prepare a draft abstract from your research in accordance with the ASLM2016 Late Breaker Abstract Submission Guidelines.
  • Send your abstract to the ASLM2016 Abstract Mentor Programme via Gelila Negede at [email protected], requesting participation in the programme. Indicate the scientific track and category that best fits your abstract.
  • The application deadline for participation in the Late Breaker Abstract Mentor Programme is Monday, 22 August 2016.
  • AJLM will confirm receipt, and provide you with information about your mentor pairing. You will be linked with a mentor by email.
  • Communicate specific questions and concerns regarding your abstract with your assigned mentor.
  • Your mentor will establish appropriate terms of communication (number of revisions, type of guidance, availability, estimated timelines, etc.) and help you to revise and edit your abstract. Please keep in mind that mentors are volunteers, and be considerate of their time.
  • Mentoring is completely separate from the actual ASLM2016 abstract submission process, review, and selection; mentors have no influence on abstract scoring or acceptance.
  • You, not the mentor, will be responsible for submitting the final abstract by the new submission deadline: 11 May 2016.
